The Site Engineer will be responsible for field metering activities, ensuring zero-defect installation, timely execution, and strict compliance with safety standards and defined SOPs/work instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute smart meter installations for HCB consumers, including Single Phase Whole Current Meters, as per defined SOPs and work instructions.
  • Ensure timely execution of PA and Non-PA cases in accordance with Performance Assurance timelines and applicable SLAs.
  • Conduct daily VAN audits before starting field activities and ensure the availability and proper use of PPEs, tools, testing equipment, and other required resources.
  • Ensure proper utilization and compliance of the MMG 2.0 App for field activities, case updates, and operational processes.
  • Coordinate effectively with Zones, Business Associates (BAs), CEG, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of field operations.
  • Manage and monitor one or two loading vans and the respective BA teams as per directions from the Team Leader/HoG.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety requirements under the Annual Safety Plan, HIRA, JSA, and applicable safety procedures.
  • Take primary shutdown wherever required and establish a proper safety zone before commencing work.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of the PTW (Permit to Work) booklet and adherence to all permit-related requirements.
  • Immediately report safety incidents, near misses, unsafe site conditions, unsafe poles, and other hazards through the Suraksha Portal.
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives and contribute towards building a strong safety culture with a zero-accident objective.
  • Monitor field teams to ensure quality, productivity, safety, and adherence to defined processes.
  • Maintain proper coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders for timely resolution of field issues.
  • Perform other metering, commercial, or field-related activities assigned by management based on organizational requirements.

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical metering, smart meter installation, field operations, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety practices, field execution, and team/vendor coordination.

Location & Mobility

  • Location: Delhi, with Pan-India mobility as required.
  • The position may involve transfer or deployment to other locations within the Tata Group, based on business and organizational requirements.
