What are we looking for?

  • An individual with a deep understanding of the electricity sector, particularly its current policy and regulatory framework.
  • A proactive individual with excellent networking, presentation, MS excel and analytical skills, capable of translating complex regulatory changes into actionable insights.
  • Excellent command in English writing (verbal and written) for preparing representations, point of views and interaction with senior official in the government
  • Should have engaged with or have connects in MoP, MNRE, MoEFCC, CEA, CERC, Grid India
  • Should be alert to policy and sectoral developments
  • Since the areas Advocacy is required to work on is quite diverse, candidate should have a flare for quick grasp of issues involved and quick learning.
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in regulatory, commercial, BD, power market, in a power entity. . Experience in RE shall be given preference
  • Should have a good network to tap into for sectoral information and actions of industry peers and competitors.
  • Ability to effectively manage time to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align policy and advocacy efforts with organizational goals.

 

You would be responsible for

  • Keeping track of policy and regulatory developments, primarily in domains of power, renewable energy, environment, fuel, and providing inputs to the Business Heads for their decision making
  • Scanning various sources (web sources, industry peers, industry bodies, personal network) for policy related developments which have potential to impact the business of Tata Power and its subsidiaries.
  • Discussing with various teams within Tata Power to understand issues which can be taken up with Central Ministries for policy intervention as part of pro-active Advocacy
  • Be able to coordinate with Tata Power internal teams for preparing representations/ comments/ observations to be addressed to government/ government agencies/ Regulatory Commissions on various draft policies/ regulations    issued by the Central statutory agencies.
  • Preparing presentations on policy and regulatory developments for sharing with senior leadership teams during strategy workshops/ Directors’ information sessions
  • Be able to leverage one’s own industry network and develop network to effectively have advance information about policy moves by the Central Government and its various policy making bodies.
  • Be able to interact with industry bodies to get our viewpoints accepted.
